Overview
Our own groves, our own mill, our own oil
Publica Group is a privately owned coconut business. We grow coconuts on our own estates, harvest them by hand and press them in our own mill, so we can vouch for every drop of oil we sell.
Virgin and refined coconut oil are the heart of what we make. Around them we produce copra, desiccated coconut, coconut water, coir fibre, shell charcoal and fresh coconuts, so every part of the harvest is put to good use. Being privately owned lets us take the long view, which is exactly what a coconut grove needs.

Our purpose is to grow coconuts with care and turn them into oil people can trust, while leaving our land, our people and our neighbors better off. Six values guide the work.
Care for the land
Healthy soil grows healthy palms. We farm so that our groves will be in better shape for the next generation than they are for us.
Put quality in every drop
We check our work from the grove to the drum, and we never ship oil we wouldn't be proud to use ourselves.

Harvesters, operators, chemists and clerks all deserve fair pay, a safe day's work and a real say in how things are done.

Our History
Planted one grove at a time
Coconut palms reward patience, and so has our business. These are the milestones that took us from a single grove to estates, a mill and a team of hundreds.

1980s
The first grove goes in
Our founders plant a single coconut grove in Region, Country, setting out the seedlings by hand and selling the first harvests as fresh nuts and copra.

1990s
Our estates grow
Good harvests pay for new land. Estate 2 and Estate 3 are planted, and a nursery of our own starts raising seedlings from our strongest palms.

2000s
Our oil mill opens
Rather than sell our copra on, we start pressing it ourselves. The new mill puts quality in our own hands, from the drying yard to the finished oil.

2010s
Virgin coconut oil
A cold-press line lets us make virgin coconut oil from fresh kernel, and our own quality lab opens to test every batch before it leaves the mill.

2020s
Nothing goes to waste
Husks are now spun into coir fibre and shells turned into charcoal, while leftover coconut biomass fires the mill's boilers. The whole coconut earns its keep.

Growing for the next generation
Our estates, mill and head office work as one team, and the seedlings we plant this year will keep the mill supplied for decades to come.
